What is a “favorite face”?
A favorite face is a face you are drawn to on looks alone, apart from personality, popularity or who your bias is. Fans in Japan call it “sukigao”, and posting a 3×3 grid of your nine favorite faces became a trend there on X.
Your bias and the face that catches your eye first are not always the same person. Take just that face preference, rank it from 1 to 9, and you have your Face Top 9.
With nine faces side by side, you start to see what they have in common, such as the eyes, the overall vibe or the hairstyle, which you may never have noticed before.
How to play
Prelims
Photos appear nine at a time. Pick as many as you like, or none. Every idol appears exactly once.
Main round
If you picked a lot of people, choose your top two from groups of four to narrow the field.
Finals
Compare the remaining faces two at a time to set your ranking from #1 to #9.

- What is Face Top 9?
- It is a game where you compare photos and keep picking the faces you like until your personal top 9 is ranked. It follows the favorite-face grids that became popular among fans in Japan. LoveType has three versions: K-pop Boys, K-pop Girls and Visual Kei.
- How do I make one?
- Choose a version and start the prelims. Pick the faces you like, then settle the order in the main round and finals, and your nine results appear. You can share them on X or LINE, copy the link, or save the image.
- How long does it take?
- The prelims are 20 screens for K-pop Boys, 19 for K-pop Girls and 41 for Visual Kei. The number of main-round and final screens depends on how many faces you pick; most people finish in about 5 to 10 minutes.
- Can I stop halfway?
- Your picks are saved automatically in this browser, so reopening the page lets you carry on. They do not carry over to other browsers or devices.
- Who is included?
- 172 male K-pop idols, 167 female K-pop idols and 362 visual kei artists. The date of each list is shown at the bottom of its page. The list does not cover every idol or artist, and line-ups may have changed since then through new members, departures or hiatuses.
- Is my result sent anywhere?
- No. Your picks are not sent to or stored on our server. A link containing the numbers of your nine picks is created only when you share.
- How can I request removal?
- Featured artists or their agencies can email [email protected]. We will review the request and remove the listing promptly.
