What this type is like

In front of everyone you’re all smiles, and once the group breaks up, you hold a “debrief” with one or two close friends. “She was trying a little hard today, huh?” “Where do you think he got that jacket?” You don’t show your real feelings up front, you compare in your head, and you share it all within your inner circle. When those three line up, your Frenemy Score naturally runs high. In your mind, though, you’re just swapping impressions, and honestly, curiosity usually outweighs any ill will. Your powers of observation and empathy are the real deal. Make the debrief about “what was fun today,” and you’ll create the coziest space anyone could want.

Sound familiar?

  • The coffee afterward lasts longer than the actual hangout
  • “That was fun!” is always followed by “But, like…”
  • Your debrief crew are somehow the friendships that last the longest

Tips for a healthy distance

Make a rule: the first five minutes of the debrief are good stuff only. Oddly, everything after that comes out softer too.
